Looking Forward

I am looking forward to the day when there are no more big business press articles, trade press articles, etc. about blogging. Really.

Remember when all you read about was that so-and-so added a website? That they were providing e-commerce? Now, these things are not newsworthy. They are table stakes.

We'll get there with blogs too. Then the next big thing will capture the breathless attention of the workaday world.

Blogs are important, yes. They are another tool that is part of the transformative toolkit of distributed networking.

I think we need to pay more attention to the transformations these tools enable than the tools themselves. Especially, power transformations.

This buzz is getting rather repetitive, don't you think? But I guess that is what happens when you are on the cutting edge -- you are looking for the next thing before most are even aware of the thing itself.

That is why you will find more space devoted to transformational issues than blogging issues per se here.
