Wikis and PR

Eastwick is embracing wikis in a big way, and is getting ready to launch a new media practice.  As you may know, Giovanni Rodriguez is going to be presenting about how to use wikis as part of a global media platform at the NewComm Forum

They coined a new verb (at least I haven't seen it anywhere else yet) - "to wik" - much like "to blog."

I like wikis a lot, but I think they are pretty challenging to introduce to people, especially given the changes in behavior they can cause.  It will be interesting to read about how Eastwick is handling this.

Elisabeth, do you know of any good resources for Wiki software?

I think they're more than a little chanllenging for users, ideally, i'd like to dumb one right down so joe average user could use it easily but they all seem so complex right out the box...

Well, any wiki will have a learning curve, as you have to learn their little languages. But Jot (www.jot.com) has a WYSIWIG interface which can make things easier for people.

Eastwick is using Socialtext, and so far the uptake has been good among people who've gotten an initial intro.
