The Joys of Sephora

Mom watched the baby (a soon-to-disappear help, as she heads home in a couple of weeks) this afternoon between marathon feedings so I could run out and pick up 2 baguettes for dinner.  I also wanted to stop by Sephora, located next to the boulangerie.  What a wonderful place for a sleep-deprived new mom to browse and escape the "I am the living manifestation of a human cow" syndrome.  I must have tried out 20 different lip glosses (bought Clarins Colour Quench Lip Balm No. 04), picked up some Sephora brand chocolate body cream (yummy) and Clarins UV Plus Protective Day Screen with White Tea Extracts (it won an award from Marie-Claire magazine and I am finding myself moving more and more to Clarins products - they are so nice!). (I read lots of fashion magazines in the hospital - about all my brain could handle - so I am up on all the new fashion and beauty products for the first time in my life.)

But the best was the enjoyable escape (nice smells, nice music, nice salespeople and fun products to browse through).  Normally I hate shopping, but my 20-minute escapade just made my day! (That and the fact that I finally fit into my pre-pregnancy Levi's.)  So I thought I'd send some blog love to Sephora...

I love the Clarins Day Screen! It's amazing what a little aromatherapy can do for the soul!
